About Colin

Colin is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor by primary profession and regularly acts as an Expert Witness (Quantum and Time), sits as adjudicator, occasionally arbitrator and expert assessor or determiner. He has been a director of C Featherstone Associates Limited (T/A CF Associates) since 2001 and a consultant since 1996. Prior to that he worked for several Tier 1 Contractors and a Consulting Engineer.

CF Associates can provide a wide range of contractual and consultancy services to the Construction Industry.

Experience

Colin has over 40 years post graduate experience in the Construction Industry, gained in the UK and overseas in Scandinavia, north and south Africa, Europe and the Middle East.

He routinely provides contractual advice and reviews; quantum and time analysis support to contractors, employers and other professionals on a variety of contractual and bespoke forms of contract including JCT, NEC and FIDIC. His experience includes residential, retail, leisure and stadiums; restoration of historic properties; roads and bridges; rail overhead line, P-way, SCADA, stations and metro; tunnels; power generation and distribution; marine and process engineering.

Qualifications

  • BSc (Hons) Quantity Surveying.
  • Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators – in both Arbitration and Adjudication.
  • Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Building.
  • Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
  • Member of the Academy of Experts.
  • Post Graduate Diplomas in both Arbitration and Adjudication.
  • Accredited / Registered Expert Witness via Cardiff University Bond Solon, the Academy of Experts and RICS.
  • Qualified Dispute Resolver (Expert Determination) Academy of Experts.
  • Accredited Mediator (London School of Mediation).
  • Member of the Society of Construction Law Adjudication Society
  • Arbrix and a Freeman of the City of London.
